Matthew Hoffman Better Together installation in Detroit neighborhood park showing community-centered public space

Be You

This piece lives in McGraw Mini Park in Detroit’s NW Goldberg neighborhood.

I’m interested in how public art can support places that are already bringing people together. Parks like this are built for gathering, rest, and shared experience.

Better Together is a simple phrase, but it carries something real. It reflects how spaces like this are created, and how they grow over time through the people who use them.

This is the kind of work I’m drawn to. Contributing to something that already belongs to a community. More at You Are Beautiful.
