You Are Beautiful 你很美麗
You Are Beautiful Chinatown was the first time I translated the message into another language. Featuring both English and Mandarin, the installation was created for Chicago’s Chinatown in 2016. What moves me most is how the work has been adopted by the neighborhood. Over time, the plaza surrounding it has come to be known on Google Maps as “You Are Beautiful Plaza.” That kind of organic naming tells you something important. Public art becomes real when it stops belonging to the artist and starts belonging to the place. More at You Are Beautiful.
